Overall, I believe the seminars and workshops, as well as other research projects and volunteering I have been involved in have positively influenced my decisions for the future and have benefited me in deciding my future carer path as well as created more options which I may not have considered originally.
New skills
Bangor University has provided me with a range of new skills. Not only have I improved my academic skills, such as: laboratory work, essay writing, research project undertaking and exam taking. But, it has also taught me about over life skills that will be useful when applying for any job, such as: presenting, team building, career planning, interview and time keeping.

As well as learning new skills academically, Bangor gave me the freedom to try new activities. I tried a lot of sports I never thought I would, such as: Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, American football, Mixed martial arts and boxing. These are all sports I never thought I would try but with Bangor making clubs free to attend I gave them a try, and now i have developed my skills in team working. As well as leadership as I now coach the American Football defensive line.
My third year
During my third year at university I have attended a variety of talks, seminars, workshops and conferences which have spanned a broad range of topic areas. There are a few areas which I did not highlight in this blog one of which was the assessment center. This allowed me to seek special help due to my learning difficulties for writing essays and presentations, as well as receiving exam help. The workshops I attended were vital to me furthering my degree as well as to develop my skills in each area that I was struggling with. By doing this it means my skills have developed further and Ive become more confident in myself, and this will make me much more employable in the future.
The next steps
The variety of activities that I have attended have given me an insight into various career paths from further education, conservation and research work. After considering all my options, I would like to carry on studying further, where I have now applied for a masters degree in Marine biology. This is so I can further my skills and understanding of the subject, to hopefully in the future pursue a career in conservation or eco-tourism globally, not too sure where though yet, but would like to go abroad.
Final thoughts

This is my final blog post for the assignment that I have now completed. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing blog posts and feel that I have established a new way on how to inform others of what activities I have participated in and also it allowed me to reflect on what I have learnt through carrying out different activities, and what skills I have developed. It has also allowed me to write in a way that was quite unfamiliar to me before but after completing this assignment this is something I could keep on doing in the future to educate people on work I may be doing and how they could help.
I hope you have enjoyed reading through my journey and have learnt new information regarding the various activities I attended that have now shaped my chosen carer path. I hope to be carrying on my studies at Bangor University next year if I am accepted on to the masters course for marine biology, which I know will be very challenging, but I am looking forward to all aspects of it.
